Mr Tahir Mahmud is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Cheshire and Manchester, who's aim is to deliver consistently outstanding results for his patients.

After graduating from University College London Medical School, he went on to complete his orthopaedic training in London at varied centres of excellence including; St Mary’s Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. He later went on to complete his specialist fellowship training in Sports Knee Injury based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London. Upon completion of his training, he was selected by the prestigious University of Western Ontario, Canada to partake in a year-long fellowship in Complex Knee and Hip Joint Replacement Surgery. Mr Mahmud is driven to consistently achieve outstanding clinical results for his patients.

Mr Mahmud is a super specialised Consultant Knee Surgeon, and one of the first surgeons to perform robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery in the North West of England. He is a specialist in knee ligament surgery, meniscal repair and managing sports knee injuries, and treats professional and amateur sports people. He has an interest in treating younger patients with arthritis and performs cartilage regeneration procedures, high tibial osteotomy and partial knee replacement surgery.

Mr Mahmud believes in utilising knee preservation techniques before considering total joint replacement surgery. He is highly-skilled in both complex total knee replacement and minimally invasive total hip replacement surgeries.

In his personal time, he has a passion for cycling, annually raising thousands of pounds for charity through various cycling expeditions.
