Mr Syed Hussain is a highly experienced Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon. He received his core and higher surgical training within the prestigious Oxford Deanery, developing extensive expertise in both general and vascular surgery. He went on to undertake a two-year higher surgical research degree at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, focusing on lower limb blood flow and vascular biomechanics.
In recognition of the originality and clinical significance of his work on volumetric blood flow analysis at arterial bifurcations in the lower limb, Mr Hussain was awarded the prestigious Hunterian Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1996.
Mr Hussain is a full-time Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon, offering comprehensive care across the full spectrum of vascular disease including arterial, venous, and endovascular interventions.
He plays an active role in surgical education, having led multiple vascular surgery training courses and regularly teaching on endovascular aneurysm repair techniques.
Mr Hussain has published widely, contributing over 100 peer-reviewed articles, case reports, book chapters and scientific papers, helping to advance clinical practice and research in vascular surgery.
