Personal Profile

I qualified in Pakistan and after doing my post graduation from the College of Physicians and Surgeons worked as a Consultant Physician in Medicine for more than three years in a busy hospital in Islamabad. I came to the UK in 1998 and did the membership of Royal College of Physicians of UK and worked for more than a year as registrar dealing with medical and geriatric patients.

I left in 2000 for a year, during which I worked in Saudi Arabia as a Consultant Physician in a General Hospital. I came back in 2001 to take up my training in Medicine and Geriatrics, initially in Leicester and later in Oxford. I did a year long post-graduate certificate course in Evidence Based Healthcare at Oxford University.

Clinical Interests

Clinical Interests

I am a geriatrician and general physician, trained in looking after older people, both when acutely unwell and later when they proceed through different stages of recovery including rehabilitation to build their confidence and getting them into the best possible physical and mental state. In my current appointment, I deal with older people admitted to hospital following a fall leading to bone injury. I am able to help out with pre-operative assessment, management of ongoing medical problems, assessment of bone health and assessment for risk of falls. I have attended Parkinson's Disease masterclasses and have an interest in managing this condition.
