Personal Profile

Professor Swati Jha is a Consultant Urogynaecologist working at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH), one of UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts and joined the trust in 2009 after completing my subspecialty training in Urogynaecology.

She is the lead for the Perineal trauma services, Paediatric Gynaecology services and Laparoscopic Urogynaecology services at STH. Professor Jha is actively involved in research, teaching and training and hold several Grants. She has over 120 publications in several areas of Urogynaecology and has widely published on Sexual Function in women with pelvic floor disorders.

Clinical Interests

Professor Jha's main areas of interest are Urogynaecology (prolapse of the womb, bowel, bladder and urinary incontinence) and General Gynaecology (period problems). She has an interest in vulval and perineal problems (enlarged labia and vaginal laxity) and also problems of painful sex.

Professor Jha provides a range of investigations and treatments related to the above problems. She also provides expert evidence in clinical negligence and personal injury cases. Her expertise is within her area of specialisation including perineal trauma, Gynaecology and Urogynaecology.
