About Dr Susan Hotchkies

Personal Profile

Dr Hotchkies qualified from Manchester Medical School in 1984 and trained as an obstetrician and gynaecologist in local North West hospitals, passing membership for The Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in 1990. She spent 4 years working in an IVF unit, providing advice and treatment after this, before returning to mainstream obstetrics and gynaecology as a Senior Registrar.

She was appointed as a Consultant in 2001, working in both obstetrics and general gynaecology, first at Trafford General Hospital and then at UHSM when maternity services were reorganised. During her time at UHSM, in addition to her clinical duties, she was appointed RCOG tutor, a post she held for 7 years, during which she ran several educational courses for trainees in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Dr Hotchkies retired from her Consultant post at UHSM in 2020, and has since worked at The Alexandra Hospital both for NHS and private patients.
