He has worked with eminent gynaecologists during his training periods at Kings College hospital London, Addenbrooke`s Hospital, Cambridge (Rosie Maternity), Oxford deanery Hospitals and Liverpool women’s Hospital. Mr Mitra has successfully completed Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) modules in urogynaecology, minimal access surgery and gynaecology scanning and member of International and British urogynaecology societies and also of British and European gynaecological endoscopy societies. He is an accredited (British Society of Colposcopists and cervical pathology) colposcopists and colposcopy trainer.
Mr Mitra regularly does prolapse and anti-incontinence surgery without using meshes, as well as minimal access surgery (uterus preserving surgery for heavy periods, laparoscopic hysterectomy, ovarian cyst removal and fibroid removal), Colposcopy for abnormal smears and counselling/operation on contraception and pregnancy advisory services and also menopause management.
Mr Mitra is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and gynaecologists and involved with various Royal College educational activities including teaching and training of candidates for MRCOG. He has also successfully organised RCOG courses for training grade doctors and also organised laparoscopy suturing courses for senior trainees and consultants, to which he attends as RCOG representative for new consultant appointments interview in NHS and MRCOG final examiner.
Mr Mitra also regularly presented/published papers in international/ national events and peer reviewed journals and has received various prizes including gold medals and university medals in my medical carrier. He was the recipient of “Malcolm Black Travelling Fellowship” from RCOG and was nominated by trainees as “Trainer of the Year” in 2015-16.
