About Sunita Hern

Personal Profile

Having qualified from the University of Glasgow Medical School in 1993, Dr Sunita Hern obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1996. In 2012, she was admitted to the college as a Fellow (FRCP).

Specialist training

Building on this foundation, Sunita decided to focus on specialising in dermatology. Her initial training took place at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, St Thomas’ Hospital, London and she completed higher specialist training in dermatology at St George’s Hospital, London and Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey.  During her time at St George’s Hospital, Sunita obtained a PhD thesis in cutaneous lasers and psoriasis (University of London, 2002).

Teaching and Research

A recognised expert in dermatology, Sunita has presented her work at both national and international level. She is also the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications. Sunita practiced as an NHS Consultant in Dermatology at Frimley Park Hospital from 2008-2015. She continues to consult privately at two hospitals in Surrey.
