He operates on the Thyroid and parathyroid and has a special interest in surgery for over-active thyroid (thyrotoxicosis). For this type of surgery he uses state of the art nerve monitoring to ensure patient safety. He submits his outcome data to the British Association of Thyroid and Endocrine surgeons (BAETS) of which he a member.
He works in a busy Breast unit at his NHS hospital and is conversant with the management of breast cancers and benign breast diseases. He submits his outcomes for screen detected breast cancers to the national hub. He is a participant in several national trials for breast cancer.
Mr Sudeendra Doddi qualified from JIPMER, Pondicherry , India which is prestigious Central Government Medical College and Hospital. He did his basic surgical training in South Africa and Australia giving him a broad perspective of medicine. He was awarded the membership fo the Royal College in 2006 and Fellowship of the Royal College in 2012 . He did his higher surgical training at Kings College London and was awarded the Certificate of Equivalence of Specialist Registration in 2018 .
He completed the Masters of Surgical Science from the University of Kent under the mentorship of Professor Tom Bates.
Mr Doddi actively engages in Continuing Professional Development to keep his knowledge and skills up to date. He has several original articles in peer reviewed journals and the latest being published in 2021 in Clinical Breast Cancer.
He is passionate about teaching and is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, Clinical supervisor for Specialist registrars , Educational supervisor for Foundation Doctors and GMC accredited National Trainer. He was on the panel for selection of Specialist Registrars. He is a faculty in the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is a volunteer faculty for FRCS and MRCS courses.
He is member of the BAETS, Association of Breast surgeons, Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland and the British Hernia Society.
Mr Doddi consults at Blackheath on Friday evenings, Chelsfield Park Hospital on Friday afternoon and The Sloane Hospital on Monday evenings. He also consults at the Shirley Oaks Hospital when needed.
He works with a consistent team of highly experienced Consultant anaesthetists, radiologists and pathologists to ensure high quality patient care. He regularly audits his surgical outcomes and has demonstrated low complication rates.
Mr Doddi accepts referrals for NHS Choose and book, insured and self funding patients.
In his free time he enjoys playing chess, running and spending time with his family in Orpington
