Mr Steven Hamilton is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the treatment of hip and knee conditions, including arthritis and sports injuries.
He offers advanced surgical techniques, including robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement, which can support faster recovery and help reduce post-operative pain.
Mr Hamilton provides a wide range of treatments for knee problems, including:
- Keyhole (arthroscopic) knee surgery,
- Ligament (Anterior Cruciate Ligament - ACL) reconstruction
- Cartilage repair (meniscal surgery)
- Lag realignment (High Tibial Osteotomy) and
- Knee stabilisation procedures which prevent recurrent dislocation (Patellar stabilization/trochleoplasty).
- Hyaluronic Acid (HA) or Platelet-rich Plasma (PrP) injections
Training and Appointment
Mr Hamilton completed his Basic Surgical Training in Glasgow and undertook Fellowship training in Melbourne. He later moved to Aberdeen, where he completed his Higher Surgical Training.
He has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2010.
Mr Hamilton holds a position within NHS Grampian as well as his private practice here at Albyn Hospital. He has also contributed to the field through published orthopaedic research and case studies.
