About Ms Smriti Kuntal

Ms Smriti Kuntal has been a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital since 2020.

She qualified in India and has been training in the UK since 2007. She was awarded membership of the Royal college of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MRCOG) in 2014. She has also been a speciality trainee in Wales and South East London. She was awarded the completion of training certificate in Obstetrics and Gynaecology(CCT) in 2018. Ms Kuntal completed Masters in advanced minimally invasive surgery and Robotics from University College London 2018-2019 with a Distinction.

During her Master’s Ms Kuntal designed and presented ‘Virtual reality simulation model for training and planning of excision of pelvic pathology involving haptics and metrics’. She is enthusiastic about innovation in Gynaecology and piloting new surgical techniques at the NHS for enhancing patient care. Ms Kuntal did a fellowship in Gynae-Oncology from Churchill’s hospital at the Oxford University in 2019-2020. Ms Kuntal acquired membership of the European board and was awarded EFOG-EBCOG in 2021.

Ms Kuntal has acquired a diploma in Gynaecology ultrasound scanning in 2023.

Ms Kuntal has been certified for providing menopause care from British menopause society in 2024.

At Queen Elizabeth hospital Ms Kuntal has been an undergraduate lead. She is educational and clinical supervisor to Speciality and nurse trainees. She has been actively involved in managing the patient tracking list to reduce Gynae-Oncology surgical waiting times. Ms Kuntal has made national and international level oral and poster presentations. Ms Kuntal specialises in benign Gynaecology conditions, and has a special interest in providing one stop 2 week wait Gynae-Oncology services. She is keen on enhancing patient experience in ambulatory Gynaecology Hysteroscopic diagnostic and treatment procedures. Ms Kuntal is accredited by the British colposcopy society (BSCCP) for providing smears, colposcopy and treatment of abnormal smears. 

Ms Kuntal is fluent in Hindi English and Urdu.
