Dr Bhatta graduated from Calcutta Medical College in India, where she earned both her medical degree and a master’s in Obstetrics and Gynaecology by 2003. She then moved to the UK in 2005 and completed her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology. From 2013 to 2023, she trained in fertility and assisted conception through clinical and senior fellowships at the Aberdeen Fertility Centre. Since then, she has worked as a Fertility Consultant in both the NHS and private sectors. Dr Bhatta also holds advanced training in menopause care from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).
Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Bhatta is passionate about teaching. She is a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Deputy Lead for healthcare assessments at the University of Aberdeen, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
She also trains future fertility specialists and is an accredited trainer with the British Fertility Society in areas such as pelvic ultrasound, infertility management, assisted conception, and donor conception. She contributes to postgraduate education as an examiner and member of the MRCOG Part 3 exam subcommittee.
Dr. Bhatta has been involved in research throughout her career and has published in respected medical journals. She now supports senior medical students with research and elective projects and continues to peer review fertility-related studies.
Above all, Dr Bhatta is known for her compassionate, personalised approach. She is deeply committed to raising awareness about reproductive health and helping people make informed, confident decisions about their care.
