Dr.Shemitha Rafique has extensive experience in General Medicine having graduated in 2000 and has taken an M.D. in Medicine in 2004. She went on to subspecialise in Diabetes and Endocrinology from UK. She has trained in various NHS hospitals including Guys St.Thomas NHS Trust. She is a full time substantive consultant at Princess Royal University Hospital, Kings College NHS Foundation Trust. She does endocrine , diabetes and bariatric clinics every week there. She has a good understanding of the structure of medical treatment in the U.K.
She has done research as part of her M.D training and published interesting cases in endocrine journals and presented in various meetings. She updates her knowledge consistently for the benefit of her patients . She does regular teaching for students and trainees.
She is the lead for governance in her hospital , as she is a keen advocate for patient safety.
Her passion is to help her patients , by unravelling their symptoms to find a diagnosis as early as possible and thereby appropriate treatment. She looks at the patient as a whole and does not get limited by symptoms outside her speciality.
