About Shehzaad Khan

Personal Profile

Mr. Shehzaad Khan (Shez) is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon with a specialised focus on sports and reconstructive knee surgery. He is double fellowship trained in all aspects of trauma and knee surgery. His particular interests are ligament reconstruction, sports injuries, cartilage and meniscal repair and reconstruction, knee preservation and patellofemoral instability. Additionally, he contributes to the field as a Ringside Medical Officer for the British Boxing Board of Control Limited. 

Shez has completed fellowships at the Fortius Clinic, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust under the mentorship of world renowned surgeons Mr. Andy Williams, Mr. Simon Ball, Mr. Tim Spalding and Mr. Pete Thompson. During this time he was actively involved in the care of professional athletes and gained experience treating elite football and rugby athletes with some of the top English Premier League and Premiership rugby clubs. In addition, he has extensive training in procedures such as knee osteotomy, meniscal allograft transplantation, cartilage repair and regeneration, patellar realignment and stabilisation surgery, including trochleoplasties. 

Before these fellowship roles, Shez began his comprehensive surgical training across renowned institutions and busy major trauma centres. He completed his higher surgical training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore) and the Oswestry/Stoke training programs. 

Shez is an extremely keen sportsman and has played many different sports. He is a former semi-professional athlete, representing Lacrosse at an International level, and Hockey at County level. He continues to play sport at a slower pace, focusing on reducing his handicap.
