Dr Nabili is a Senior Lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University vision centre. He has published papers in peer reviewed journals and is involved in the training and examining of trainee eye surgeons, medical students, optometrists and ophthalmic trainees.
He graduated from University of Glasgow medical school in 1997 and completed his basic and higher surgical training in West of Scotland Hospitals. The majority of his training was based in the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology, Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow, where he also completed 2 further fellowships.
Dr Nabili specialises in cataract, natural lens replacement and eye lid surgery. He has performed over 16,000 cases of cataract and laser eye surgery and is particularly interested and experienced in multifocal lens implantation to achieve spectacle independence following cataract surgery. He is one of the very few eye surgeons in Scotland who has the training and access to laser cataract surgery. He is the founder and lead surgeon for oculoplastic and orbital services (eye lids and bony eye socket) in Lanarkshire health board and regularly performs functional and cosmetic surgery of eye lids.
Dr Nabili is a friendly, local and experienced NHS surgeon who treats all of his patients with great respect and dignity. All his patients are given his own direct phone number after surgery and he believes that private eye surgery with a consultant of your choice should also be affordable and accessible to as many patients as possible. He works with all major insurance companies and has access to interest free payment schemes for self-funding patients.
He audits all his surgical outcomes regularly and achieves a very high satisfaction rate. He regularly performs surgery on complex cataracts and despite that, his surgical complication rate is well below national average.
Dr Nabili is an active member of various affiliated bodies and societies such as the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
