About Mr Shahme Farook

Personal Profile

Mr Farook completed all his qualifications in UK and undertook his Maxillofacial and Fellowship training in London. He has a special interest in Head and Neck Surgery and Reconstruction and was awarded an MSc with Distinction for Microvascular and Reconstructive Surgery by Queen Mary’s University, London in 2020.

After 20 years of extensive training, Shahme became a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Head and Neck Surgeon at Northwick Park Hospital (North West London NHS Trust). However, with surgery the training never ends as new techniques and treatment emerge. Shahme is committed to the development and refinement of innovative practices that benefit patients and has succeeded with complex free flap reconstructive cases.

Shahme has authored book chapters in well-recognised textbooks and has had several publications in peer reviewed journals. He has presented his research in local and international conferences, achieving widespread recognition. Shahme has also regularly taught as a faculty member in several Free Flap and Reconstruction courses and International courses run by College of Surgeons.

Shahme recognises the importance of teaching and training the next generation of surgeons and doctors. He regularly participates in webinars to educate GPs, Dentists and their trainees in oral cancer and benign conditions. He is also involved in teaching sessions for Plastics and Maxillofacial trainees.
