About Shadi Ghali
Personal Profile
Following completion of his microvascular reconstruction fellowship at the number one cancer institute in the USA (MD Anderson, Houston, Tx), Mr Ghali is keen to continue working and developing his interest in complex oncological reconstruction.
The fellowship introduced him to a multidisciplinary approach to cancer patients and allowed him to work closely with other surgical disciplines. His current practice involves microvascular breast reconstruction, and microvascular lower limb reconstruction following sarcoma excisions and trauma cases. He is also active in the abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR) service and has carried out a number of joint cases with the general surgeons.
In terms of complex oncological non-microvascular reconstructions, he has also carried out a number of pelvic/perineal/vaginal reconstructions following tumour excision by oncological surgeons. He has also completed a Cosmetic Fellowship at the world renowned Akademiklinican in Stockholm, Sweden with Dr. Per Heden. This allowed him to combine his reconstructive surgical skills with his aesthetic skills in refinements in breast surgery, abdominal surgery and facial surgery as well as surgery following massive weight loss.
