Dr Sandy Flann is a well respected and experienced Consultant Dermatologist at Sevenoaks Medical Centre (part of KIMS hospital) and Chelsfield Park hospital.
Dr Flann sees patients with general dermatological problems, such as eczema, psoriasis, acne and vulval skin disorders. She sees and removes skin lesions and skin cancers and has a weekly theatre list at Sevenoaks Medical Centre and a regular theatre list at Chelsfield Park Hospital.
She has a specialist interest in paediatric dermatology and allergy and was the Lead Clinician for paediatric dermatology for West Kent Dermatology and at Orpington Hospital (part of King’s College Hospital). During her time at King’s College Hospital, she developed a monthly multidisciplinary clinic for children with difficult eczema, multiple food allergies and failure to thrive.
Dr Flann is passionate about medical education and passing on knowledge to the next generation. She is involved in teaching GPs, GP trainees, & medical students, and talks to students interested in medicine at careers fairs at local schools and often has work experience students sitting in clinic at Sevenoaks Medical Centre.
Training
Dr Flann graduated from King’s College School of Medicine, London in 2000 and gained a broad experience of general medicine at Bromley Hospital, King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London where she obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2003.
Dr Flann started her Dermatology training at the world renowned St John’s Institute of Dermatology, London and then built upon this by gaining experience in the dermatology departments of King’s College Hospital, St George’s Hospital and Orpington Hospital where she obtained the Royal College of Physicians Speciality Certificate in Dermatology in 2010. Dr Flann completed a postgraduate MSc in Allergy at Imperial College in 2014 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2016.
Dr Flann was awarded her CCT in 2011 and was appointed as a consultant dermatologist at Orpington Hospital in 2011.
She has presented at a variety of national and international meetings including the British Association of Dermatology, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, the American Academy of Dermatology and the World Congress in Paediatric Dermatology. Dr Flann continues to keep up to date with dermatological developments with regular attendance at local, national and international meetings.
