Miss Sandra Watson is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She trained in London and the South East, qualifying as a doctor in 1994 and completed her specialist training in 2006. Miss Watson has been a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at the Homerton Hospital in East London since 2007, where she has also been Clinical Lead for Gynaecology for the last 10 years.  Miss Watson has been involved in and led several research studies in Gynaecology and has extensive experience in training other Gynaecologists, junior doctors and medical students. She is a pioneer in new surgical techniques, such as new hysteroscopic procedures and outpatient treatments for miscarriage and Bartholin’s cysts.   

Miss Watson has a private practice at The London Independent Hospital, where she has been a Consultant Gynaecologist since 2011. She runs her clinic on Thursday afternoons.  Surgery is usually performed on Thursday evening.

Miss Watson’s areas of expertise include the treatment of menstrual problems, fibroids and ovarian cysts.  She is experienced in hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery as well as in open and vaginal surgery.  Miss Watson offers the following surgical procedures: hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, fibroid resection, laparoscopy, ovarian cystectomy, treatment to endometriosis, myomectomy, hysterectomy, as well as vaginal repair operations.  Miss Watson works with experienced Anaesthetists who practise regularly at The London Independent Hospital; procedures are performed under sedation, local, regional or general anaesthesia, according to the type of procedure and patient request. 

Miss Watson is also able to see and advise patients with vulval conditions, recurrent miscarriages or fertility concerns.  She is also able to perform smear tests and minor procedures in the clinic.

Miss Watson strives to offer patients all of the effective treatment options for their problem, while keeping in mind any fertility concerns.
