Mr Patel has a particular focus on the treatment of varicose veins using modern, minimally invasive techniques such as endovenous laser therapy, radiofrequency ablation, and foam sclerotherapy, while also providing traditional surgical options when appropriate. Most procedures are performed as day cases under local anaesthetic, enabling patients to return to normal activities quickly and comfortably.
In addition to venous surgery, he undertakes a wide range of arterial procedures, both open and endovascular, for the treatment of:

He also has specialist expertise in vascular access surgery for patients approaching or receiving renal dialysis, including arteriovenous fistula creation and laparoscopic peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion.

Hernia surgery – inguinal, paraumbilical, and incisional hernias, using modern day-case techniques for rapid recovery.
Minor surgical procedures – removal of lumps and bumps, and management of ingrown toenails.

He completed his surgical training within the Oxford and London Deaneries, including at the Royal Free Hospital, and undertook research at Yale University, Connecticut.
Mr Patel serves as Clinical Governance Lead at his NHS Trust, working with colleagues to uphold the highest standards of patient care and safety. He is also an NHS England-appointed Medical Examiner, reviewing clinical care to ensure quality and best practice. Passionate about education, he plays an active role in training surgical registrars, particularly in endovenous techniques and vascular access surgery, and remains committed to advancing excellence through evidence-based practice.
