Prof. Humadi completed his higher surgical training in the Southwest England Regional Training Scheme for General Surgery and subsequently developed a subspecialist interest in upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. He received advanced training in laparoscopic upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at leading centres in the United Kingdom and Europe, including Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, Bristol Royal Infirmary, and North Bristol Hospitals, as well as specialist centres in Hamburg, Paris, Bruges, and Vienna.
His clinical practice focuses on minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery for gallbladder disease, hernia repair, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, and obesity. He offers a comprehensive range of bariatric procedures, including gastric sleeve and gastric bypass surgery, and is experienced in the management of complex and revisional bariatric cases. He leads a multidisciplinary team providing coordinated care for patients undergoing weight loss surgery, ensuring thorough assessment and support throughout the pre-operative and post-operative journey.
Prof. Humadi is actively involved in research and academic surgery. He has published widely in the field of bariatric surgery and metabolic health and has presented his work at national and international scientific meetings. His research interests include outcomes of bariatric surgery, postoperative complications, and long-term management of obesity. He is committed to improving surgical standards and advancing knowledge in the field of obesity and upper gastrointestinal surgery.
In addition to his clinical work, Prof. Humadi is a dedicated educator and trainer. He serves as a Clinical Trainer and Educational Supervisor for junior doctors and medical students and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Cardiff University. He is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of surgeons and regularly participates in professional development and surgical training activities.
