Personal Profile

Professor Humadi has worked as a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon at Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2010. He developed the major weight loss pathway here and has added a cohort of 2 fellow bariatric surgical colleagues. He has been the lead for bariatric surgery since his appointment and he actively participates in teaching junior doctors and senior surgeons in his NHS practice. He has worked independently as a consultant in emergency theatre, general surgery theatres and the upper gastrointestinal field specialising in surgical weight loss procedures.

Professor Humadi has published and presented both nationally and internationally on various topics in bariatric surgery. He trained as a Clinical Research Fellow at Hammersmith Hospitals from 2000 to 2002 after which he undertook Higher Surgical training in General Surgery in South West England. After completing his general surgery training, he selected Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery as a sub-speciality of interest. He was trained in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, Bristol Royal Infirmary, Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, Hamburg and Paris.
