Take control of your weight without invasive surgery or drugs, with gastric balloon surgery.
Gastric balloon surgery is a type of weight loss surgery. Circle Health use the BIB system ™ for gastric balloon surgery. It is a medically supervised system that will help you take control of your weight without invasive surgery or drugs.
The gastric balloon surgery works by helping you to feel full, thus reducing the urge for food, whilst you undertake a weight loss programme with the help and support of our team of doctors and dieticians.
The gastric balloon is a soft, silicon balloon that is inserted into the stomach and filled with sterile saline. The balloon is designed to partially fill your stomach, giving you a feeling of fullness. It will not only make you feel less hungry, but feel fuller more quickly after small meals. The balloon is removed after 6 months.
Experienced weight-loss professionals will consult with you and design a programme to help you successfully reach and maintain your weight loss goals. Your team will be there every step of the way with encouragement and support. During regularly scheduled meetings with your dietician or nurse you will learn the principles needed to manage your weight and promote long-term health.
If you have a BMI of 30 or more, the BIB system ™ gastric balloon surgery could be the solution for you. But please remember, this is only a guide. Our team of experts will give you a comprehensive health assessment based on your body mass index together with other relevant health factors.
With this form of weight loss surgery you should be able to go home the same day of the operation. You will need to attend follow-up appointments with your doctor, dietician and patient support groups. The gastric balloon is then removed after six months.
As with all surgeries, there are potential complications involved. Specific complications can include:
