Sam graduated in 2015 from Cardiff University with a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy. Following this, he worked in the NHS for many years in Musculoskeletal Outpatients working his way up to a role as department lead and senior clinician. In this position, he gained a huge breadth of knowledge and skills treating a wide variety of conditions and injuries.
Sam left the NHS to pursue a full time career working for the UK Sports Institute (Previously the English Institute of Sport) who provide support services to British Olympic sports. Initially, he worked with the British swimming team leading the physiotherapy support to the Bath National training centre and later moved to working with the Men’s Olympic Rowing Team up until moving to work at Mount Alvernia Hospital.
Clinically, Sam has a keen interest in shoulder, elbows and lower back pain but treat most parts of the body. His experience in elite sport has given him excellent rehab skills to help patients return to not only their sporting goals but whatever goals are most meaningful to them.
His passion in physiotherapy comes from wanting to help people reach their goals and live their lives with less pain and better function. Sam's approach is to work with you to help you understand your problem and together you can agree a treatment approach which works for you and will give you the most benefit.
