Dr Salim Janmohamed is a well-established and experienced Consultant Physician, specialising in Endocrinology (hormone medicine), Diabetes and General Medicine.  He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London) and  Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London.

He received his undergraduate medical training at University College Hospital (London), which included a BSc degree in pharmacology, and qualified with a triple distinction (honours) MBBS degree in 1988.  He underwent postgraduate training in a range of prestigious academic and clinical institutions in  London and Oxford and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1991.  Since then, he has specialised in Endocrinology and Diabetes, and has spent 4 years researching pituitary disease and the genetics of diabetes and obesity.  Dr Janmohamed was appointed as a Consultant 1999 and currently practices in a number of London Hospitals, including the Wellington and Royal Free Hospitals.

Dr Janmohamed's clinical practice covers a wide range of general medical  and complex diagnostic problems, including general endocrinology, metabolism, and diabetes (and complications), with a focus on careful investigation and treatment options. 

Special interests include thyroid  and parathyroid disease,  pituitary and adrenal disorders,  obesity,  sex/reproductive hormones, osteoporosis and hormonal treatments (e.g. testosterone replacement) .  

In addition, he has expertise, and is involved, in international clinical research of novel and emerging medicines for cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.
