About Dr Ruth Challenor

Personal Profile

Dr Challenor is originally from Lincoln and trained at the University of Leicester, before completing her General Practice Vocational Training Scheme in Lincolnshire. With over 21 years of experience in primary care, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice.

Dr Challenor also regularly volunteers abroad in developing countries, where she supports local charities working to improve healthcare and access to medical services for some of the world’s poorest communities. This work reflects her commitment to compassionate care and improving health outcomes on a broader global scale.

She previously worked as a Senior Partner within her own GP practice and now enjoys a varied portfolio career, combining her role as a salaried NHS GP with locum and private GP work.
Between 2018 and 2022, Dr Challenor worked at the University of Lincoln Health Service, where she developed a particular interest in caring for young adults, alongside women’s health and family planning. While she has these specialist interests, she is proud to remain a true generalist, providing comprehensive care across a broad range of health concerns.

Dr Challenor values building strong relationships with her patients and colleagues and takes a collaborative approach to care. She is committed to delivering a compassionate, high-quality service that supports patients in making informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.
