Personal Profile

After completing Specialist Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Fellowship in Minimal Access surgery in South Yorkshire, Dr George joined Nottingham University Hospital as Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician in 2017. She joined the team at St Mary’s hospital, Manchester in 2018 and has more than 19 years of experience in Gynaecology. She is committed to helping women feel seen and heard and empowered in their treatment journey for gynaecological conditions.

Dr George offers patients treatment for a variety of complex gynaecological conditions including heavy and painful periods, fibroids, pelvic pain, endometriosis and menopause.

As the lead for Ambulatory Gynaecology as well as Governance lead for Benign Gynaecology at St Mary’s hospital, Dr George’s work is centred in delivering clinically excellent care across Manchester and beyond, by providing safe, innovative, research based and efficient services.

Together with the team at St Mary’s she established the innovative Sonata fibroid ablation service at Manchester and teach this incisionless treatment to gynaecologists across UK. Dr George was instrumental in introducing acupuncture for the treatment of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. She is passionate about teaching and is part of the faculty for RCOG/BSGE Hysteroscopy course, Sonata workshop, Advanced Laparoscopy courses and MRCOG OSCE courses.
