About Dr Ros Ballance

Personal Profile

Dr Ros Ballance has been a GP in the Surrey community for 22 years and currently mixes her work in private practice with a regular weekly NHS clinic in Haslemere.  You can book an appointment with her as either a new or follow-up patient.

She has an interest in women’s health at different stages of life, ranging from contraception (coil fitting and contraceptive implants) to menopause management.

Dr Ballance also offers health screening and advice on lifestyle, dietary choices and tips for living healthier. She is also experienced in treating both acute and chronic illnesses in general practice

As a result of close links with consultant colleagues at Mount Alvernia, Dr Ballance can quickly refer on if patients need to be seen by a specialist.  Patients who may require blood tests, scans and x-rays can also be seen in the hospital, usually on the same day as their doctor’s appointment, thanks to Dr Ballance’s access to both our Pathology and Imaging departments.

Training and Appointment

Dr Ballance qualified from Southampton University and has been a GP since 2018.  She is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and has a diploma from the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare.

Guildford Private General Practice

Dr Ballance is one of the doctors who’ve formed the Guildford Private General Practice, which was established in 2013.  All the doctors in the group are UK trained and have many years of experience working in general practice, as well within a hospital environment.

They have long established, close relationships with many Mount Alvernia Hospital consultants and health professionals, so can tailor their referrals to the most appropriate specialist for your particular problem.
As well as providing advance and same day generous 30-minute appointments, immediate access to tests, x-rays and scans on site, the doctors offer discretion, second opinions, quick onward referrals, and a variety of health assessments.
