Mr Rahman is a full-time Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist practicing at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. Mr Rahman’s patients come from the Hampshire and Berkshire regions. Although some patients travel to see Mr Rahman from places throughout the country and as far as Edinburgh.

Mr Rahman sees both self-pay and insured patients, Insurance patients do not need a referral letter, provided your insurance company is happy to authorise the consultation without one.

At Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital Mr Rahman is the lead for outpatient hysteroscopy and menstrual disorders. He is also the obstetric lead for maternal diabetes and leads a multidisciplinary team made up of other consultants, junior doctors, nurse specialists, staff nurses, and midwives.

Mr Rahman specialises in the management of complex fibroid disease, the surgical and medical management of disorders of menstruation, pelvic pain, ambulatory gynaecology (outpatient hysteroscopy) as well as general gynaecology. Mr Rahman is an experienced gynaecological surgeon with many years of experience in open, laparoscopic (keyhole), and hysteroscopic (intrauterine) surgery.

Mr Rahman began his training in 2007 and graduated from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London School of Medicine and completed his foundation training in The Northeast Thames Deanery. Following this he went on to complete his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in The London deanery. During the course of his training, he spent over two years working at major endometriosis centres, becoming proficient in the management of endometriosis, pelvic pain, and in minimal access (keyhole) surgery. As well as undergoing specialised training in ambulatory gynaecology and outpatient hysteroscopy.

Upon completion of his training, Mr Rahman went on to complete a Fellowship working at The internationally respected Myoma (Fibroid) centre at St George’s Hospital in London - renowned for the management of uterine fibroids. During his fellowship Mr Rahman developed expertise in the management of complex fibroid disease.

During the course of his training, Mr Rahman has completed Advanced Training Skills Modules (ATSMs) in Open and Laparoscopic Surgery, Hysteroscopy, and Advanced Labour Ward Practice.

Mr Rahman is an educational supervisor for the Wessex Deanery. He is an educational supervisor for the Benign Gynaecological Surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and Hysteroscopic surgery ATSMs (Advanced training modules). In 2022 he was appointed to the position of Assistant Professor at St George’s University Medical School, Grenada.

Outside of work Mr Rahman enjoys spending time with his family, his wife works with him at Basingstoke Hospital as a midwife and also supports his private practice. Most of Mr Rahman's hobbies involve his son and include football, swimming, and Karate. 

Mr Rahman’s main goal is to improve the quality of life of women suffering from period problems and pelvic pain. With years of experience, he is able to offer a range of treatments thereby giving patients choice and autonomy.
