He has a special interest in the field of heart failure, and as lead heart failure consultant he is developing services across the county He also has a specialist interest in managing patients with heart rhythm disorders. Dr Taylor is an active member of the British Heart Rhythm Society and is accredited in the implantation and follow-up of pacemakers.
Dr Taylor graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2001. His specialist cardiology training was centred in Newcastle, Middlesborough and London. He returned to the University of Birmingham and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital to undertake a doctorate, examining how evolving imaging techniques can be used to improve the care for patients receiving pacemakers.
Dr Taylor maintains an interest in research and continues to publish and present projects nationally and internationally. He is also heavily involved in teaching and training, and is a member of the specialist committee that oversees the training of cardiologists across the West Midlands.
