Personal Profile

Mr Rishi Shukla is a Consultant ENT/Head and neck & Thyroid surgeon based at Buckinghamshire Health NHS Trust. He gained his MBBS at King’s College London in 2012. He undertook his higher surgical training in the highly competitive Oxford deanery working at many renowned centres. He was awarded his FRCS in 2021 and commenced his substantial NHS consultant post in 2023.

He also gained a Bachelor of Science at King’s College London in Medical biochemistry during his training. Mr Shukla has also completed an advanced fellowship in head and neck surgery at the world-renowned Charing Cross Hospital.

Mr Shukla has been pioneering approaches to drainless neck surgery in the UK with advancements towards promoting safer day case surgery. He believes that the best outcomes for patients can only be achieved with careful clinical selection, planning and ensuring complex decisions are carefully considered and ratified within the framework of a multidisciplinary team.

He is actively involved in teaching other doctors, nurses and allied health professionals and has published in peer-reviewed medical journals and spoken at international professional congresses involved in thyroid and head and neck surgery. He has presented at multiple national and international surgical conferences.

Mr Shukla manages a variety of adult and paediatric conditions and also contributes as a core member on the regional Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire/Berkshire Thyroid MDT. He is also fluent and able to offer consultations in Gujarati.
