Prof Abdul Kadir has been practicing as a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Free NHS foundation Trust since 2002 providing obstetric and gynaecology care for high-risk women.
Prof Kadir has set up and leads a special service for bleeding and thrombotic disorders for women. She also has been a Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Institute for Women’s Health, University College London, since 2018.
She has led national and international guidelines in the management of bleeding, clotting and blood disorders in women and authored a book entitled “Inherited Bleeding Disorders in Women” in 2009; second edition published in 2019. She is considered an international expert and regularly invited as a keynote speaker at national/international scientific meetings.
Prof Rezan Abdul Kadir has also been in the forefront of advocacy for women’s issues and has played a leading role in the national and international medical societies and patients’ organisations advocating women’s health issues in thrombosis and haemostasis.
She has over 300 peer-reviewed publications and won several international prizes for her research contribution to the literature in women’s health.
Prof Abdul Kadir has an extensive clinical and surgical experience in the management of gynaecological conditions. She performs a wide range of vaginal, abdominal, and laparoscopic/ hysteroscopic procedures. She also has extensive experience in gynaecology and early pregnancy ultrasound examinations.
