About Dr Ravinder Singh

Personal Profile

Dr Singh has been practicing Paediatrics for more than 40 years. He worked at the University Hospital of North Midlands, Stoke-on-Trent as a Consultant Paediatrician and Lead Clinician with special interest in paediatric neurology, epilepsy and neuro-disability for more than 20 years.

He was Honorary Consultant Paediatrician in Paediatric Neurology at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital from 2002 to 2018, and worked in the tertiary complex epilepsy clinics.

Dr Singh has vast experience in treating children and young people with neurological disorders, epilepsy, headaches, movement disorders, tics and Tourette syndrome, neuro-genetic conditions and neuro-disabilities.

He is a national and international tutor on Paediatric Epilepsy Training (PET) run by British Paediatric Neurology Association, and was part of a professional group to set up a very successful one-day national training course for British Paediatric Neurology Association on Childhood Headaches (CHaT1) for Consultant Paediatricians and other doctors. He is regularly teaching and chairing CHaT1 courses, which have been running very successfully all over the country since 2013 with excellent feedback. He is also on the CHaT1 steering group to regularly update the course.

Dr Singh has worked as a Paediatrician in India for 14 years in teaching hospitals and tertiary centres. He was a Reader (Associate Professor) in Paediatrics in The University of Delhi; five postgraduate (MD students) completed their thesis under his supervision. He has published several articles in medical journals and contributed chapters in books. He was also on the editorial board of Indian Paediatrics (official journal of The Indian Academy of Paediatrics) while working in India.

Dr Singh is continuing his interest in medical education and teaching and practicing evidence based medicine. His personal interests are in music and practicing and propagating healthy lifestyle measures.
