Ravi works collaboratively with his patients, ensuring that they are well informed about the treatment options available. He works closely with a group of specialists, including Physiotherapists and Radiologists to ensure that the patient receives treatment that is tailored for them.
Ravi graduated from Guys Hospital Medical School in 1996 and then spent the next 4 years completing his basic surgical training in both London and South East England. He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, in 1999 before securing an Orthopaedic Specialist training rotation based at Guys, Kings & St Thomas’s Hospitals. He passed the Intercollegiate Trauma and Orthopaedic Exam and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Trauma & Orthopaedics) in 2005.
Ravi secured an NHS Consultant post in 2007 at University Hospital Lewisham and subsequently at Darent Valley Hospital, Kent where he has been working as a Consultant since 2008.
Ravi is Chair of Darent Valley Hospital’s Senior Hospital Staff Committee and is an accredited Appraiser regularly undertaking annual reviews of his colleagues’ practice. He is also an approved Educational supervisor for trainee surgeons.
Ravi’s clinical practice encompasses all aspects of Shoulder Surgery covering the full range of arthroscopic and open shoulder surgery, including arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic and open shoulder stabilisation, SLAP repair, subacromial decompression and fixation of clavicle fractures. He also undertakes a broad range of elbow, wrist and hand procedures.
