About Mr Ratukondla Ravikumar

Personal Profile

Mr Ravikumar graduated from University Of  Madras in 1980 and came to UK soon after to specialise in orthopaedics in 1982. His extensive training took him to centres of excellence from Scotland to England gaining invaluable experience in lower limb surgery, completing specialist training at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital London.

He was appointed Consultant at North Middlesex University Hospital in 2000 and started Enhanced Recovery for hip and knee replacements which is now firmly established and has reduced the hospital stay and improved quality of care of the patients. He also held positions of clinical lead, trauma lead, deputy clinical director.

He retired from NHS in February 2019 and now works solely at The Kings Oak and Cavell hospitals, in Enfield.

He specialises in hip and knee surgery and also has a interest in hand surgery.

Mr Ravikumar is a keen educator and has been recently appointed as a Professor of Orthopaedics at New Vision University in Georgia. He has given international guest lectures on knee injuries and trauma and also has published papers in peer reviewed journals.

Mr Ravikumar is a keen rambler and has climbed Kilimanjaro and Scott Kangri in Laddakh for raising  money for a charity. Mr Ravikumar was also a keen cricketer and tennis player but nowadays watches it passionately on television. He enjoys watching movies and listening to all kinds of music and pursues yoga and meditation to improve his mental and physical health, as well as travelling around the world and learning new cultures and food.
