Mr Kakar is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in hip and knee arthroplasty, soft tissue knee reconstruction and trauma. He has been a Consultant in the NHS since 2017. His initial training took place in and around Glasgow, and he went on to complete a fellowship in Lower Limb Arthroplasty, Trauma and Soft Tissue Knee Reconstruction and Knee Revision Surgery.

After his fellowship training, he came back to Glasgow as a locum consultant at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Wishaw General Hospital before joining Ninewells University Hospital in Dundee.
His practice centres on hip and knee replacement surgery, soft tissue knee reconstruction and general orthopaedics. In addition to his clinical work, he is also involved in the teaching and training of junior doctors, senior orthopaedics registrars and post-doctoral overseas orthopaedic surgeons, and has also published in national and international indexed journals.
