Rachel Lyons is Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at Ealing General Hospital. She is a graduate of Guy's Hospital Medical School, London, and gained her clinical training in a wide range of London district general and teaching hospitals, including Guy's, St. Bartholomew's, Queen Charlotte's, Royal Free and St. Mary's Hospitals.
She has gained a wide experience in general gynaecology, including the management of menstrual problems, fibroids, problems of the menopause and vaginal prolapse.
She has special expertise in minimal access surgery, having received her training in the tertiary referral centre at St Mary's Hospital, London, and maintaining her skills with regular operating sessions at Ealing General Hospital. Here she runs a specific advanced laparoscopic theatre list for more complex cases. She is a keen advocate of keyhole surgery wherever possible.
Miss Lyons also has a special interest in infertility and gynaecological ultrasound, having worked as a Clinical Research Fellow in a busy IVF unit for 2 years, and performing research into endometriosis and tubal infertility for The Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospitals.
She runs both the infertility and early pregnancy units at Ealing and holds the Diploma of Obstetric Ultrasound. She is a member of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy and the British Fertility Society.
