Mr Piero Nastro is a well-regarded, general and colorectal surgeon who specialises in performing advanced laparoscopic surgery, endoscopies, colorectal surgery, proctology and complex abdominal wall surgery, and possesses a high level of expertise in conditions such as colorectal cancer, haemorrhoids, fistula, and abdominal wall hernias, amongst many others.
He qualified in Medicine in 1999 and in 2003, he completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the University of Hull. In 2014, he completed his higher surgical training in London undertaking a post-training Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at the esteemed St Mark’s Hospital in London.
In 2015, Mr Nastro was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary Hospital where he is Surgical College Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons and Undergraduate Surgical Lead for the Kings College University and the Kent and Medway Medical School.
Currently, Mr Nastro is the Robotic Clinical Co-ordinator at Darent Valley Hospital where he is currently offering robotic surgery. He is also the Surgical College tutor at Darent Valley Hospital and the undergraduate surgical lead for the King College Hospital medical students and the representative for the ASCPGB South East Chapter.
