Personal Profile

Dr Phil Mayhead has been a consultant Gastroenterologist for 12 years. He has worked in Australia during his training and undertaken his specialist training in the Southeast of England. He has been an accredited Bowel Cancer Screener (BCSP) for 6 years. He is an examiner for the national BCS programme. He undertakes a wide range of endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy and colonoscopy including therapeutics and polypectomy and small bowel and colon capsule endoscopy. He has been an independent biliary endoscopist treating bile duct gallstones and obstructive liver problems (ERCP).

Dr Mayhead has been a consultant in Sussex for the last 11 years and has recently relocated his medical practice into the Kent area.

Dr Mayhead has friendly and proactive approach to the management of GI and liver related conditions and is happy to spend time working through a diagnostic problem to provide an explanation and management plan for the individual patient that gives an answer and peace of mind.
