Dr Paul Rees trained at St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, and after a thorough grounding in acute medicine and critical care he was selected for higher professional training in adult cardiology.

He is accredited as a consultant in both cardiology and internal medicine, with subspecialty training in interventional cardiology, treating heart disease using minimally-invasive stent procedures.

He worked for two years as Research Fellow at the world-leading Hatter Cardiovascular Institute in London, where he published his doctoral research thesis.

During his interventional cardiology fellowships he became skilled in the use of cutting-edge technology which allows the cardiologist to individually craft the right solution for each patient.  He is regularly invited to speak at international specialist meetings.

Dr Paul Rees sees all general cardiology and general medical patients but has a special interest in the assessment of chest pain, high blood pressure, heart disease in diabetes, coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention.  He is also experienced in managing high-risk occupational groups such as divers and motorsport professionals.

Dr Rees is also a consultant in the UK's Defence COVID Recovery Service, and has experience in helping patients who have suffered from cardiorespiratory effects of COVID. He is happy to see any patients with concerns regarding their recovery from COVID infection.
