Personal Profile

Mr Paul Nesbitt is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, where he leads the Manchester Limb Reconstruction Unit.

He specialises in limb reconstruction, deformity correction, limb lengthening and complex trauma, with particular expertise in circular frame (Ilizarov and hexapod) surgery, intramedullary limb lengthening using motorised nails, and transverse tibial cortical transport (TTT), one of very few such services in Europe. He treats adult patients with bone and soft-tissue infection (osteomyelitis), non-union and malunion, post-traumatic deformity, and a wide range of lower-limb trauma.

Mr Nesbitt also serves as Governance Lead and Regional Trauma and Limb Reconstruction Unit Lead. Alongside his clinical practice he is active in surgical education, holding faculty roles on a number of national courses and sitting as an ARCP panellist for the school of surgery. He has published peer-reviewed research and contributed textbook chapters in his field. He offers private practice at The Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle.
