Mr Paul Hooper has been working as a consultant Gynaecologist for over 20 years. He established the speciality of Urogynaecology in Nottingham in 2002, and has continued to build the service, which now offers a comprehensive range of assessments and treatments for pelvic floor dysfunction (bladder/bowel/pelvic organ prolapse)
He is the lead Urogynaecologist for the Nottingham Complex mesh service, established as one of 9 UK centres commissioned by NHS England for managing the complications of vaginal mesh.

In addition, he undertakes emergency and general gynaecology practice, and takes part in regular Multidisciplinary meetings, research, and audit meetings.

Clinical Interests

  • Urogynaecology - Bladder problems and vaginal prolapse, post-natal pelvic floor problems
  • General gynaecology – Period problems, pelvic pain, sexual problems, benign ovarian/vulval disorders.
  • Vaginal Hysterectomy – for benign (non-prolapse) indications.
  • Labiaplasty – only for non-cosmetic indications.
