Personal Profile

Mr Pasha Nisar FRCS, is a Consultant Colorectal and Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeon and sees private patients at the Runnymede Hospital in Surrey and Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor. 

He was appointed as a consultant in colorectal and general surgery at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust in 2011. 

Mr Nisar is an expert in minimally invasive surgery and regularly undertakes complex laparoscopic and robotic procedures for bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, pelvic organ prolapse, hernias and endometriosis. He regularly undertakes screening colonoscopy for bowel cancer and advanced polyp removal endoscopically. He performed the first single incision ‘scarless’ operation for cancer and the first artificial sphincter implant at the NHS Trust. He is an expert in treating painful proctology conditions such as haemorrhoids, fissures, fistula and pilonidal sinus. He is also experienced in the management of general surgical emergencies.

Mr Nisar established the colorectal research programme with Royal Holloway, University of London and supervises PhD studies on genetic biomarkers for colon cancer. He is also the clinical lead for endoscopy at Princess Margaret Hospital. 

Mr Nisar grew up in Berkshire and attended King’s College School, Wimbledon. He read medicine at Trinity College, Cambridge University and Addenbrooke’s. He was awarded a doctorate from The University of Nottingham for his thesis at the Academic Surgical Unit. Specialist surgical training was completed in the London Deanery including St George’s, Frimley Park, Royal Surrey Hospitals. Mr Nisar spent one year at the Cleveland Clinic USA, a world renowned centre of excellence, at the Department of Digestive Disease training under Professor Vic Fazio. 

Mr Nisar is a high volume surgeon with expertise in all aspects of colorectal disease, hernia repair and colonoscopy. His focus is on achieving the best clinical outcomes and excellent results for patients. He is an international conference speaker with over 50 articles and book chapters published. Mr Nisar was voted Global Health and Pharma Colorectal Surgeon of the Year 2019.
