About Mr Panos Stathakis

Personal Profile

Mr Panos Stathakis is a Consultant in HPB and General Surgery with a special interest in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
He graduated from School of Medicine, University of Belgrade in 2002 and was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in 2004 from School of Health Sciences of the Greek Institution of Higher Education. In 2011 he gained his Master of Science degree (MSc) in Minimally Invasive, Robotic Surgery and Telesurgery from University of Athens.
He then completed surgical training in General Surgery in Athens.
He has have worked at North Manchester General Hospital and in Manchester Royal Infirmary as a Senior Clinical Fellow where he subspecialised in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary and where he gained invaluable experience in advanced pancreatic, liver, gallbladder and bile duct surgery for a period of 10 years.

Mr Panos Stathakis has a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, complex pancreatic and liver surgery as well as the investigation of unexplained abdominal pain, and is also proficient in all aspects of hernia surgery.
