Personal Profile

Dr Sharif is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Huddersfield Private Hospital. After completing his Rheumatology and General Medicine training in the London/South Thames rotation in 2014, Dr Sharif completed his MRCP in Rheumatology in 2013 and an MSc in Rheumatology from Kings College London in 2014. 

His masters research explored the role FDG-PET imaging in large vessel vasculitis, this was carried out at Brighton and Sussex University Hospital & Guys and St. Thomas Hospital.

Dr Sharif worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for a year before moving to Yorkshire and he has been a Consultant Rheumatologist at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust since April 2016.

He provides services in general Rheumatology and also has interests in managing vasculitis and connective tissue conditions. Dr Sharif is also trained in musculoskeletal ultrasounds to assess inflammatory arthritis and successfully developed, led and integrated use of ultrasound at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital rheumatology clinics, which has resulted in reducing the number of hospital visits and improved patient experience and outcomes.

Dr Sharif have a special interest in the management of large vessel vasculitis and the role of different imaging modalities in managing these conditions.

Personal:
