Personal Profile

Mr Om Lahoti is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in children and adult lower limb surgery. He treats a wide range of lower limb conditions, including sports injuries, arthritis and fractures. Mr Lahoti is based at King’s College Hospital, one of the busiest premier teaching hospitals in London, where he treats patients with complex lower limb fractures, deformities, limb length difference (limb lengthening and growth modulation), children’s hip and foot disorders. He have specialist interest in complex deformities including a wide range of foot and ankle conditions.

After completing Master of Surgery (Orthopaedics) at the prestigious Osmania University/Hospital, Hyderabad, Telangana State, India, he moved abroad for further education and training. He worked in Ireland, England (South East Thames Deanery) and was awarded Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1989 and Intercollegiate Board Exam (FRCS Orth) in 1996. Mr Lahoti undertook advanced training in children’s orthopaedic disorders at the prestigious Children’s Hospital, Sheffield, as a National Fellow in Paediatric Orthopaedics. He completed a diploma course in gait analysis to study lower limb mechanics and complex interaction between hip, knee and foot and ankle, at the Strathclyde University. Mr Lahoti pursued advanced training in circular frame treatment at the world famous Ilizarov Institute, Kurgan, Siberia, Russia. He was also awarded Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons Canada in 2001 after examination. He was appointed to a consultant post at the University Hospital Lewisham in 1998 and then moved to King’s College Hospital in 2003 to pursue specialist interest in adult and paediatric lower limb disorders.

Mr Lahoti am very passionate about undergraduate and postgraduate education and conduct teaching courses regularly. I co-organised the very first King’s College FRCS (Orth) revision course and Paediatric Orthopaedic FRCS Orth Revision Course in 2008. He then became an examiner for the Intercollegiate Board Examination in Orthopaedics – FRCS Orth Examiner- in 2011.

Mr Lahoti also has a keen interest in orthopaedic clinical research, and he has presented his research widely. He have also published over 20 papers and several case reports in peer reviewed journals. He regularly review papers for the orthopaedic journals. He have authored multiple chapters for the orthopaedic textbooks and monograms. He is regularly invited to speak at the national and international conferences. He also conducts training workshops for the postgraduate trainees and junior consultants in the field of Lower Limb Reconstruction. Mr Lahoti is also a faculty at various paediatric and adult orthopaedic courses in UK and abroad. Currently He holds the post of President of British Limb Reconstruction Society (2020-2022).
