Personal Profile
Mr Fafemi is a consultant General Surgeon and Breast Surgeon with a specialist interest in Thyroid & Parathyroid Surgery Laparascopic Cholecystectomy Hernia. He graduated from the University of Ibadan Medical School in 1978 and proceeded to the United Kingdom in 1981 where he obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1984 and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1985. This was followed by post-fellowship training in General Surgery at various Hospitals in the United Kingdom at Registrar and Senior Registrar levels.
After one year further focused training in Breast Surgery with some Oncoplastic Surgery Mr Fafemi obtained the Intercollegiate Fellowship in General Surgery. He was then appointed as a Consultant General and Breast Surgeon at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, and the Royal Free Hospital Hampstead Foundation Trust with additional sub speciality in Thyroid Surgery. He has been the Lead Breast Surgeon for the Hospital and the Clinical Director for Surgical Specialities and a member of the London Breast Cancer Pathway Board. My Fafemi is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Royal Free & UCL Medical School, and Honorary Associate Professor at St Georges University Medical School. Grenada, West Indies. He was an Educational and Clinical Supervisor for Postgraduate trainees in General and Breast Surgery, and is still fully involved in the clinical practice in Breast and General Surgery.
Mr Fafemi is also a Partner in International Integrated Breast Services, a Multidisciplinary Team focused on the entire management of Breast Cancer from Diagnosis to Survivorship in Nigeria.
