Mr Nitin Modi is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with special interest in shoulder and elbow surgery at the James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the St Edmunds Hospital.
Mr Modi obtained FRCS in (Trauma and Orthopaedics) at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013. He undertook extensive training in shoulder and elbow surgery during fellowships at reputed centres such as the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He was appointed a Consultant Orthopaedic (Upper limb) surgeon in 2019.
Mr Modi provides care for a full range of shoulder and elbow conditions including shoulder replacement, rotator cuff repair, shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder sports injury, frozen shoulder, calcific tendinitis, joint injections, tennis elbow, ulnar entrapment (cubital tunnel syndrome) and shoulder trauma. He has specialised interest in shoulder arthroscopy and joint replacement surgery.
Mr Modi enjoys teaching medical students, trainees, junior surgeons, nursing and theatre staff. Mr Modi serves as a faculty on FRCS course, international shoulder arthroscopy course and various teaching courses.
Mr Modi has published a number of peer-reviewed articles in international orthopaedic surgery journals. He has extensively presented his work at various national and international meetings.
Mr Modi has a keen interest in research and has been co- investigator for the multi-centre randomised trials like UK FROST (United Kingdom Frozen shoulder) trial and ProFHER (proximal fracture of the humuerus) trial.
