About Dr Nikolaos Papamichail

Personal Profile

Dr Nikolaos Papamichail is a consultant cardiologist working at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust since 2014. He also has an honorary contract with Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust in order to undertake echocardiography and cardiac imaging sessions.

Dr Papamichail has extensive training in general cardiology and echocardiography in both Greece and the UK. He is actively involved in clinical research with and interest in non-invasive cardiology.

He has completed a six-year period of research and was awarded a PhD in experimental antiplatelet treatment of coronary artery thrombosis in Greece. He has been awarded Fellowship of the European Society of Cardiology in 2016.

Dr Papamichail works as a full time consultant and as the clinical lead of echocardiography at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. He has a special interest in all forms of echocardiography (complex, 3D, stress and transoesophageal) diagnosis and management of valvular heart disease and heart failure.

His general cardiology interests include the management of coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, hypertension, arrhythmias and hyperlipidaemia.
