Personal Profile
He graduated from Cambridge University in 1989 and then returned to his native Leeds to commence his surgical training. Here he completed two years of surgical research which culminated in a MD higher degree. He then went on to embark on a six year orthopaedic training programme based in Yorkshire which was enhanced by a one year knee fellowship with a leading knee surgery clinic in Australia.
Mr London was appointed a Consultant in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at Harrogate District Hospital in 2000. He has been involved in the advancement of minimally invasive and patient-specific techniques for knee replacement surgery and frequently hosts visiting Consultants interested in learning these procedures.
A knee fellowship programme under Mr London’s supervision commenced in 2003, with senior trainees having the opportunity to study knee surgery and get involved in on-going research studies into ACL (knee ligament) reconstruction and MIS knee replacement.
Mr London is actively involved in research and development of new techniques and implants. Latest developments (which have been evaluated) include the KineSpring Load Absorber for medial arthritis and Patient-specific Partial Knee Replacement Surgery.
