As a specialist in hip and knee surgery, Mr Chotai focuses on helping patients with arthritis, joint degeneration, and mobility‑limiting conditions. He offers a full spectrum of treatments, ranging from early intervention and minimally invasive procedures to partial and total joint replacement. His advanced fellowships in Switzerland, Coventry and Warwickshire, and the Royal Berkshire Hospital provided him with extensive experience in revision surgery—complex procedures performed to correct or improve previous joint replacements. This additional expertise allows him to support patients with more challenging or long‑standing joint issues.
Patients often describe Mr Chotai as approachable, reassuring, and thorough. He takes time to listen carefully, understand each patient’s concerns, and explain their condition in clear, accessible language. He believes strongly in shared decision‑making and works closely with patients to develop treatment plans that reflect their goals, lifestyle, and expectations. Whether someone is struggling with persistent pain, recovering from an injury, or considering joint replacement, Mr Chotai aims to guide them with clarity, empathy, and confidence.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Chotai is deeply committed to education. He co‑chairs the FRCS exam course within his NHS Trust and serves as the trainee educational lead, helping to support and mentor the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons. His passion for teaching ensures he remains up to date with the latest research, techniques, and innovations—knowledge that directly benefits his patients.
Mr Chotai also holds a diploma in sports medicine, enabling him to care for patients with sports‑related knee injuries, hip pain, and conditions that may benefit from keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery. He regularly treats individuals with hip and knee arthritis, performs partial joint replacements, and manages revision operations when previous implants require attention.
Above all, Mr Chotai is dedicated to helping patients regain comfort, mobility, and confidence so they can return to the activities they enjoy.
