Dr Nedelkopoulou is a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and undertakes private consultations at Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield.

After graduating from Medical School in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, she completed her training in Paediatrics in the University Hospital, Ippokrateio in Thessaloniki, Greece. Dr Nedelkopoulou then moved to UK and trained in Paediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology at King’s College Hospital in London and Sheffield Children’s Hospital. She is leading the Paediatric Hepatology Service at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, and has a special interest in combined inflammatory bowel disease and autoimmune liver disease and pancreatic disease in children.

Dr Nedelkopoulou has a strong background in research. She was awarded her doctorate with the grade “excellent” from the Aristotle University and her research team received an international award for the quality of their research, regarding the immunology mechanisms implicated in food allergy in children. Dr Nedelkopoulou has published widely within Paediatric Gastroenterology literature and is actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and post-graduate level. Since her appointment in 2017, she has been teaching in national endoscopy courses held by the Paediatric Gastroenterology team in Sheffield and in the Endoscopy Learning Zone at annual meetings of The European Society of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

Dr Nedelkopoulou has participated as a mentor in the programme BL Women in Healthcare Society, organised by the Barts and London Medical School aiming at supporting female undergraduate medical students.

She aims to offer personalised care to paediatric patients with GI pathologies and works closely with her patients and families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
